Full course description

Course OverviewThis course is designed to guide you through the foundational elements of engineering plan sets for heavy civil construction projects, combining theory with practical applications to introduce the organization and interpretation of heavy civil plan sets. Beginning with an overview of what a plan set is, you'll advance through the first 27 sheets of the Everhart Road rehabilitation project in Corpus Christi, Texas, learning to navigate title sheets, drawing indexes, project control points, materials schedules, cross sections, and technical specifications. Taught from the perspective of an experienced survey manager, this course emphasizes surveying applications within construction projects and connects classroom learning to real-world field conditions through an interactive 360-degree site tour.

Duration: 2 Professional Development Hours Certified toward CEU credits

Delivery: Real-world case study with expert commentary, downloadable resources, and linked tools

Assessment: A course assessment at the end of the content to assure knowledge aquisition with explanations for each assessment question and answer

Resources: Downloadable materials, direct links to pertinent agencies and tools, and reference guides
