This OSHA-compliant 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher course provides essential marine oil spill response training specifically designed for the maritime workforce, delivered through an engaging asynchronous online format. The course features six comprehensive modules covering regulatory updates and response frameworks, hazard recognition and risk assessment, personal protective equipment and response equipment, response tactics and techniques, decontamination and waste management, and safety and health protocols. The course employs interactive decision scenarios, virtual equipment selection exercises, video demonstrations of key techniques, and knowledge checks to ensure competency while accommodating maritime workers' irregular schedules through 15-20 minute learning segments. Participants will master region-specific skills, including booming strategies for Gulf Coast tidal conditions, containment techniques appropriate for Coastal Bend environments, current regulatory requirements, and coordination with local response organizations, ensuring they meet annual OSHA refresher requirements while gaining practical expertise directly applicable to real-world marine spill incidents.
